Accessibility Tips

In addition to the steps we have taken to make the software accessible to everyone; many people are likely to get the most accessible experience of using this site by customising their computer to suit their individual needs. For example: to get the site read to them, to change its colour scheme, or increase the size of its fonts.

The Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA)(External link) was first enacted in 1990. The Act was amended in 2008 and is now known as the ADA Amendments Act of 2008 (ADAAA). It is a Federal Law that prohibits discrimination against individuals with disabilities in employment, public accommodations and state and local government operations and services. One of the important goals of this law is to ensure that all individuals with disabilities are able to access public programs and services.

The City of Lincoln City strives to make our facilities easily accessible to all. For example, our swimming pool, located at the Community Center, has a lift to help our customers with disabilities get in and out of the main pool and instructional pool.  We will continue to improve the accessibility of the Community Center and our other facilities.

The City of Lincoln City ADA coordinator is Kevin Mattias. Please feel free to contact him at 541-996-1221 or kmattias@lincolncity.org(External link) with any questions or concerns you might have regarding the ADAAA or the Engage Lincoln City website.
